How to Find Your Numerology Number

If you don’t want to use our life path number calculator above, you can find your number manually. Simply add the individual digits of your birthdate together and reduce it to a single-digit or master number (11, 22, or 33). For example, if you were born on December 25, 1985, you would calculate it as follows: 1 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 5 = 33 (a master number).

How to Find Your Destiny Number

Apart from your life path number, you can also use numerology to determine what’s called a "destiny number." This number reflects your potential, talents, and abilities, as well as the way you express yourself and interact with the world.

To calculate your destiny number in numerology, you need to use your full birth name as it appears on your birth certificate. Each letter in your name is assigned a specific numerical value. All you need to do is add them up!

  1. Start by writing down your full birth name, including your first name, middle name (if you have one), and last name.
  2. Use the Pythagorean system of numerology to assign numerical values to each letter in your name. This system assigns the following values:A = 1 B = 2 C = 3 D = 4 E = 5 F = 6 G = 7 H = 8 I = 9 J = 1 K = 2 L = 3 M = 4 N = 5 O = 6 P = 7 Q = 8 R = 9 S = 1 T = 2 U = 3 V = 4 W = 5 X = 6 Y = 7 Z = 8
  3. For each name (first, middle, and last), calculate the numerical value by adding up the values of the individual letters. For example, if your first name is "John," you would add 1 (for J) + 6 (for O) + 8 (for H) + 5 (for N) to get 20.
  4. Reduce the values to a single-digit number: In numerology, most numbers are reduced to a single-digit number, except for the master numbers 11, 22, and 33. To do this, add the digits of the calculated value together until you get a single-digit number. For example, if your first name adds up to 20, you would add 2 + 0 to get 2.
  5. Perform the above steps for your middle and last names as well.
  6. Once you have reduced the names to single-digit numbers, add these numbers together to get your destiny number. This number represents your life's purpose or destiny.
  7. Reduce the destiny number to a single digit (if needed): If your destiny number is not already a single digit, you can reduce it by adding its digits together. For example, if your destiny number is 38, you would add 3 + 8 to get 11. Since 11 is a master number, you may choose to leave it as is or further reduce it to 2 by adding 1 + 1.

What Are Master Numbers, Soul Numbers, and Angel Numbers?

When we first start learning about numerology, it can be overwhelming with the different numbers are involved. Master numbers, soul numbers, angel numbers… do we need a special type of calculator to add all this up?

Fortunately, once we get past the intimating names and our fear of math, these concepts can be easily broken down.

What Are Master Numbers?

Traditionally, when calculating our life path number, or any numbers in our numerological portrait, we break it down into a single-digit number. However, there are two exceptions to this rule: 11 and 22. These special numbers are considered "master numbers"—and as such, possess more potential than others.

Why are they so special? Well, not only do they have two identical digits, but they have powerful numbers to be doubled. The number "One" is the leader of numerology and "Two" is the harmonizer. Having these identical digits together create a lot of energy and power—in both positive and negative ways.

It is important to note that master numbers are usually found in our life path number. If they show up as part of your numerological portrait, they should be added to a single-digit number.

What Are Soul Numbers?

Your soul number, also known as the soul’s urge, represents what you want most in the world. It represents what your soul deeply craves in this life. It is who you at your core and what you need to be happy. Unlike the life path number, which is calculated by adding up all the digits of your entire birthday, the soul number is calculated by using the Pythagorean number system, which assigns a single-digit number to each letter. A is 1, B is 2, C is 3, and so on.

To find your soul number, add up all the vowels of your name until you get a single-digit number. For example, if we were looking for the soul number of someone named Jack Smith, you add together "A" (1) and "I" (9); 1+9=10, 1+0=1, Jack’s soul number would be One.

What Are Angel Numbers?

If you’ve ever made a wish when the clock struck 11:11 or gave a look when your coffee order totals $6.66, you are already familiar with the concept of angel numbers. Angel numbers are a repeating sequence of numbers acting as messages from the universe to you.

Each number in numerology has its own energy vibration; the more often you see that number, especially in a row, the stronger the vibration gets. You will usually see angel numbers randomly out in the world: the time on the clock, your receipt, in a book you’re reading. If you’re seeing a number repeating frequently, don’t ignore it! It could be the universe trying to tell you something.
